This week, Carin and I had the privilege of meeting with key stakeholders in Canberra. It was an enlightening experience where we had the opportunity to present the impactful work Telco Together and the Industry Impact Hub have been championing to the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts, the Office of the Hon Michelle Rowland MP, Minister for Communications, and eSafety Commissioner.

We specifically spoke about how telcos are actively addressing DFV through continuous improvement initiatives and we’re thrilled to announce that DFV Action Plan Reports from leading telcos including Telstra, Optus, TPG Telecom, Vocus, Aussie Broadband, and More are nearing finalisation and will soon be released.

Throughout the day we highlighted the importance of a collaborative, industry-wide approach to tackle technology facilitated abuse, underscoring the significance of government support to expedite progress in this critical area. There are many exciting things ahead of us and we deeply appreciate the opportunity to connect with bright minds in the nation’s capital. To all who gave us their time and made our visit to Canberra so memorable and engaging, thank you!

At Telco Together Foundation, we’re committed to leveraging the collective power of the Australian telecommunications industry to drive positive social change. Through initiatives like Small Change Big Change and the Industry Impact Hub, we’re dedicated to ensuring that technology serves as a force for good, benefiting every person in Australia.
