Just 30 Hours Until Summit Day

We slept at 4,200 meters last night at the very base of Mawenzi Peak  -  a magnificent peak of sheer rock. There were definitely a few headaches among the team, in addition to a few moments of deliriousness which provided some entertainment for the group.

We have now passed the half way mark!

Another early start this morning at Kikelelwa camp. The scenery is absolutely stunning and sleeping under a sky full of stars was very special, despite the extremely cool temperatures overnight.

Our first night camping was a little cold, otherwise the weather has been brilliant. We awoke Thursday morning to a hot breakfast, served in the group mess tent, which as you can see is nice and cosy.
